BLENDED LEARNING
This course has two components: an online and instructor-led classroom. You must complete the online portion first. In your confirmation of registration email, included will be a link and steps to completing the online portion of the class. Upon completion you will receive a completion certificate, simply email us a copy or you print and bring with you to the classroom portion of the class.

The American Heart: Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course provides high-quality training in first aid, CPR, and AED use. This course equips individuals and workplaces with the confidence to respond effectively to medical emergencies until emergency responders arrive. Heartsaver CPR AED is designed to meet job or regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA)

After successfully completing the CPR AED portion of this course, students should be able to:
- Recognize when someone needs CPR
- Describe how to perform CPR with help from others
- Demonstrate giving effective breaths by using a mask
- Demonstrate performing high-quality CPR for an adult, a child, and an infant
- Demonstrate using an AED on an adult and on a child
- Describe when and how to help a choking
Upon successful completion, students receive a Heartsaver CPR AED Course Completion Card, valid for two years.

This course equips individuals and workplaces with the confidence to respond effectively to medical emergencies until emergency responders arrive and designed meet job or regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA).
At the end of the Heartsaver First Aid Course, students will be able to:
- Discuss how universal precautions
- Describe the assessment and first aid actions for the following life-threatening conditions: heart attack, difficulty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, shock, and stroke
- Describe how to use an epinephrine autoinjector
- Demonstrate how to control bleeding and apply direct pressure and a bandage
Upon successful completion, students receive a Heartsaver First Aid Course Completion Card, valid for two years.

It is also ideal for anyone who wants to be prepared to respond effectively to emergencies at work, home, or in the community.

The Online American Heart Heartsaver Basic Life Support Blended Learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the online course at their own pace. Providers first complete the online portion and then complete a hands-on scheduled skills session. This course has been updated to reflect new science and education in the 2020 Guidelines for CPR & ECC and will replace the previous version.
What does this course teach?
- High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
- The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
- Important early use of an AED
- Effective ventilations using a barrier device
- Importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR
